FIT Dredging
Solving integral water and sediment maintenance challenges in multi-stakeholder landscapes
Across Europe, water systems face increasing pressure from climate extremes, ageing infrastructure, and growing regulatory demands. The EU Water Framework Directive (KRW) and national climate adaptation goals require governments to raise water quality, resilience and biodiversity — yet many systems still rely on corrective maintenance and fragmented responsibility.
FIT Dredging was launched to address this gap. We focus on preventive and ecosystem-based water and sediment management in areas where responsibility is shared across multiple actors — municipalities, water boards, utilities, nature organisations and local stakeholders.
We help these actors shift from reactive maintenance to a shared, forward-looking governance approach — rooted in system logic, ecological principles and shared value creation. The goal: cleaner water, stronger climate resilience, and lower long-term maintenance costs.
