The Netherlands is facing a growing housing shortage, while the space to build is shrinking. Climate measures, ecological restoration, and flood risk management are tightening spatial planning frameworks — especially in delta regions and urbanised lowlands.

Recognised institutions, such as Deltares and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving), acknowledge that water-based construction will be essential for long-term spatial and climate resilience in the Dutch delta.

Senso Boats actively responds to this challenge. Our modular, scalable housing units are designed to float — literally — enabling fast, flexible and low-impact development on water. This creates a new spatial layer for living, without claiming scarce land or conflicting with nature-based climate strategies.
