Tackling waste and unemployment with circular business models

In many West African regions, sustainable waste solutions are still lacking. There’s limited infrastructure for collection, sorting, or recycling — and (youth) unemployment remains alarmingly high (with rates above 30% in some areas).

Amsterdam Recycling is our response. We’re building a circular venture grounded in a clear market logic: think global, act local. By focusing on recyclable waste streams with proven private-sector value, we aim to validate the model at small scale — then grow through public-private collaboration.

The goal: launch our first operational pilot in 2026 and demonstrate that circular business can generate both environmental and social value.
